Boardman Clark Hosts Third Diversity Panel for Wisconsin Law Students

Rounding out its virtual panel series during the 2020-2021 school year, Boardman Clark hosted a third panel for law students on April 16, 2021 as part of its continuing diversity initiative. This event was virtual and featured the women of Boardman Clark. Attorneys Marta Meyers, Alison Helland, Kate Harrell, Julia Potter, Kathryn Pfefferle, Tess O’Brien, and Jennifer Mirus shared their experiences related to being female partners and associates in private practice. Paralegal Patricia Robinson and marketing associate Alexis Wells shared their experiences being women of color in a predominately white and male law firm. And paralegals LuAnn Peterson and Christina Hayes discussed what it is like to be a female paralegal in private practice. The event was followed by one-on-one virtual lunches between the Boardman female attorneys and law students.

Boardman Clark’s Law Student Outreach Committee organized the event, which consists of associates Sarah Horner and Julia Jagow, and marketing associate Alexis Wells. The Committee is excited to continue its involvement with both Marquette Law School and University of Wisconsin Law School and hopes to expand its outreach efforts in the 2021-2022 school year.

The Deadline for Entities to Report BOI is Fast Approaching

Business Minute | 11.04.24

The January 1, 2025, reporting deadline for entities formed or registered before 2024 is fast approaching. (The reporting deadline for entities formed or registered this year is 90 days after formation or registration.) Many entities waited to file to see if reporting requirements would be changed or eliminated, whether due to new legislation or the results of several lawsuits challenging the CTA and BOI reporting requirements. However, to date no determinative lawsuit decisions or new legislation have changed the general requirements. Waiting until the last minute to report is risky.
