Boardman Clark is proud to announce that Nicole Schram has joined the firm.

Nikki will practice with the firm’s Immigration, Business and Real Estate practice groups. Her experience includes helping U.S. companies and their foreign national employees in U.S. immigration matters, including securing temporary work visas, permanent labor certification, and lawful permanent resident status for foreign-born workers and their families.

She is also a skilled advocate when representing individuals and companies of all sizes in real estate and business sale transactions, previously working as in-house counsel to a prominent real estate brokerage.

Federal Court Strikes Down 2024 Salary Level Rules

In April 2024, the Department of Labor issued rules (“2024 Rules”) that increased the salary level that had to be paid to executive, administrative, or professional employees so that the employees were not entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA. The 2024 Rules did not change the primary duties tests, nor did they change the salary basis test. On Friday, November 15, 2024, a federal court in Texas struck down the entirety of the 2024 Rules and ruled his decision applied nationwide.
