Job Overview

Boardman Clark seeks a skilled and dedicated Immigration Law Paralegal to join our team. As an Immigration Law Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and assisting clients with various immigration matters. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases, including family-based petitions, employment-based petitions, deportation defense, and asylum and humanitarian applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client intake interviews in English and Spanish and gather relevant documents.
  • Provide written and verbal Spanish-English translation.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and appeals
  • Research legal issues and stay updated on changes in immigration laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and case management systems.
  • Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other relevant parties.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed.
  • Remain mindful and responsive to cultural barriers.

Qualifications

  • Two or four-year degree and/​or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in immigration law.
  • Working knowledge of USCIS filing procedures and EOIR Courts and Appeals System (ECAS) preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new electronic programs.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, work efficiently, and anticipate needed tasks to complete projects.
